4 Fun Festivals to Attend this Fall in Georgetown, KY

There are some fabulous fall festivals just around the corner that promise to be plenty of fun for the entire family. Here we bring you four of our favorite fall festivals worth the trip to Georgetown.

Apple Festival at Evans Orchard & Cider Mill, Sept 14-15, 2013

You can expect apples galore at this celebration of this beloved fall fruit. Bring your appetite to Evans Orchard as you'll find everything from apple pies and apple cider to caramel apples. Among the many fun family activities included are pony rides, hay rides, a petting zoo, music, games and more. Kids can let loose in the inflatable kids play area and craft booths scattered throughout the farm. There is no charge for admission but access to the play area is $5 per child. 

2013 AirFest Georgetown, Sept 14, 2013

10,000 people flock to Scott County Airport every year for the most anticipated aviation event in central Kentucky. See aircrafts old and new on display as well as live skydiving demonstrations, antique tractors and other interesting displays. Thrill seekers can get their adrenaline pumping with a ride in a B-52 bomber or a Huey Helicopter. The festival also features an air show, food vendors and a kids zone. General admission is $5 at the gate, and children under 10 are free.

AutumnFest at Bi-Water Farm, Sept 14-15, 2013

This 2 day event is the kickoff to the fall festivities at Bi-Water Farm. This year's event will feature a children's singing competition for cash prizes, and a "punkin chunkin", as well as a photo booth and craft stations. Enjoy a meal at the Farmhouse Cafe with tasty selections like homemade farmhouse cheeseburgers, fried apple pies and apple cider slushies. Other activities include a Lost Pumpkin Maze, mini-golf, paintball, a Spooky Farmhouse and Bunnyville. Proceeds from this event benefit the Kentucky Children's Hospital and the Makenna Foundation. General admission is $9 and children under 2 years are free.

Southern Knights Cruise Into Spring, Sept 21 & Oct 19, 2013

Car lovers should attend one of several car shows hosted by the Southern Knights of Central Kentucky Car Club. Spend a day with restored, classic and hot rod cars and immerse yourself in the lively car culture that's alive and well in the Bluegrass Region. Cruisin for Hunger on Sept 21st benefits the Salvation Army Food Band in Georgetown. There will be a special Halloween cruise on Oct 19th and will feature decorated cars in all shapes and sizes. In addition to a kids' coloring contest, and live music, prizes will also be awarded for best children's and adult costumes.
